Christmas eve over at my mom’s (best meal of the year, by far!) then Christmas day at my uncle nick’s for breakfast and dinner.

normal holliday stuff, the family shows up, things get loud, lots of cheese and hors d’oeuvres, champagne, laughing, eating, gorging, drinking. then dinner is served. pounds and pounds of clams, shrimp, oysters, prawns, crab, fettucini. bottle after bottle of wine. and then dessert. coffee. tv. i passed out (which is my norm) woke up and everyone was gone.

in the morning. after mass, we headed back to seattle to nick’s for breakfast. pita fritte and cuccia (fried bread and wheatberries with pork, reserve judgment they are both awesome.)

after breakfast we opened presents, everyone seemed to enjoy their calendars. then we took more naps. dinner was the final stuff-fest, very light meal compared with the rest of the week.
