Happy Birffday mMerica
so they guys and i got together to celebrate the birthday of our nation by asserting our manhood (ie blowing stuff up!)
we met at devin’s house in north bend to clean the shotguns before heading up into the mountains. these pictures don’t quite do the trip justice. these were the nicest parts (and widest parts) of the road by far.
brian did an excellent job of maneuvering a full-size dodge ram up a trail (road) that i wouldn’t wish on anyone.
we calmed our nerves with some ice cold refreshments upon arrival. probably one of the nicest views of any shooting gallery. well worth the trouble to get there i would say.
so we spent the next couple hours learning things about each other. devin is good at shooting clay pigeons. i suck at throwing them. brian takes forever to do stuff. dan excels at pointing that out.
we had more shells than we needed for the box of trap we brought. luckily for us, the back of brian’s truck was filled with crap that he was supposed to take to the dump (the cleaned out junk from his mom’s office).
books, old vhs tapes, dvds, and random refuse. nothing was safe from the aim of our shotguns.
here are a couple videos of the destruction of said items. my favorite is the book by laura ingraham.
after getting home and cleaning the guns again. we set about to drinking (now that we were no longer responsible for safety).
devin has a 3 hole golf course throughout his lawn. so with pitching wedges and beers in hand, we had ourselves a little golf.
eventually his in-laws arrived and we settled into some bbq and hanging out with the fam.
eventually the sun went down and you know what that means....yup, fireworks! not that they hadn’t been going off like bombs all afternoon throughout north bend.
once we were finished and the family left, we started a fire.
YAY FIRE!
